Allora Exercise Classes

Do you live in or near Allora and are interested in joining a group for a weekly exercise class? It's suitable for anyone and any level, and Exercise Physiologist Matthew Miller will guide you through each step of the way. It's also a great opportunity to meet some people in your community, and enjoy a good start to your day.

This is open to anyone who would like to join and is particularly helpful for those who are:

  • At risk of or are living with a chronic disease (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, asthma, obesity, Parkinsons, COPD)

  • Elderly community members

  • Wanting to exercise but don’t know where to start or don’t have the motivation

Classes consist of low-moderate intensity focusing on improving general health and wellbeing through stretching, strengthening and cardiovascular activities. Most classes will be in a circuit format to allow the participants to alter their preferred level of intensity at each station. Each exercise can be performed in the participant’s own time and at their chosen intensity as guided by the instructors. The intensity and type of exercises instructed will be in line with the participant’s individual goals and physical capabilities.

WHERE? Allora Sports Hall

WHEN? Every Thursday morning

PRICE? If you have a chronic disease care plan in place, we can offer sessions free of charge, including the initial assessment. If you would like to attend but don't have any chronic conditions, sessions are $10 each, with an additional fee for the initial assessment.

HOW DO I JOIN? To join our lovely community at the Allora exercise class, we first must book you in for an initial assessment with our Exercise Physiologist Matthew Miller. If the assessment is satisfactory, Matthew will sign you up to our group and we'll send you a text message each time the class is on, with a new inspiring quote each week! To register your interest or join the group, simply call (07) 4529 7222 and we will happily start the process for you.
