BN Cal is a chewable calcium tablet designed to support you during your bariatric or (WLS) weight loss surgery journey.

Why calcium is important:

Adequate dietary calcium intake after surgery, and throughout life, is required to maximise bone density and prevent bone loss - which can result in osteoporosis.  After (WLS) weight loss surgery, your body's ability to absorb calcium is reduced from around 40% to only around 7-9% - so daily supplementation is required.

Your needs increase after bariatric surgery, and women's calcium requirements are increased after menopause. BN Cal provides 200mg of elemental calcium per tablet, and we recommend two to five chewable calcium tablets daily.

Calcium is required for muscle contraction. It also supports the health and function of the nervous system. Chewable calcium tablets showed the best outcomes for patients after WLS as they can be absorbed in malabsorptive states.

Each chewable calcium tablet contains:
- calcium citrate tetrahydrate (948mg)
- equiv. calcium (200mg)
- cholecalciferol (vitamin D 164 IU) (4.1 micrograms)
- lactose and fructose

Products containing mannitol and xylitol may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhea. Vitamins can only be of assistance if your intake of vitamins is inadequate.
